The MyAngieGirl Sailorette design is a dolled-up version of the classic Sailor Suit. This pattern has been redesigned from the original 18" MyAngieGirl Sailorette, to fit the smaller 14.5” dolls such as WellieWishers™. The bodice is lined and directions are given for a hook and loop back closure. You can substitute buttons or snaps. Choose a short- sleeved or a sleeveless dress. The knee-length skirt is full and fun to trim out using ribbon, middy braid, or soutache. Make a cute sailor hat with the bonus hat pattern to complete the outfit.

Suggested fabrics for the Sailorette Dress include lightweight cotton and blends, or lightweight wovens, etc.  

Supplies Needed:

  • ¼ Yard Fabric 45” wide for Dress

  • ¼ Yard Fabric 45” wide for Lining, Contrast Collar, Sleeve Bands, and Hat

  • 1 2/3 Yard Narrow Trim such as Middy Braid, Baby Rick Rack, or 1/8” Narrow Ribbon 

  • 3/4 Yard Lace Trim for Front Inset and Skirt (Optional)

  • 10” Double-Sided Satin Ribbon 5/8” wide, for Front Bow

  • 3” Length 3/8” wide Sew-on Hook and Loop Tape
